Asakusa Festival

So this past weekend I went to a festival, Akihabara, and participated in a charity event. Pictures were taken at the charity event but not by me so I'll look around facebook for some.

The Makuchary (makuhari Charity) was a small event. I got a free T-shirt and I helped the CD booth sell CDs and DVDs. Sometimes it was really fun by it was also kind of boring. It would also have been better if it wasn't so cold. A bit too chilly. I bought 2 Globe CDs which is an artist I like one song by but wanted to look more into them and luckily I do like the CDs.

The festival at Akasuka is one of the biggest if not the biggest festival. There are 3 nikoshi (?) that are huge and heavy and have gods inside them and people carry them around town. Asakusa was more crowded that day than it was even during golden week! There were also Yakuza there. We saw a few black shiny cars and at least 2 bosses passed by me, easily noticeable by their entourage making way for them so they didn't have to deal with the crowd.

Then I went to Akihabara to get some more naruto books. there was a sale! So I got 105 yen books for only 90 yen.

  1. That is a lot of people in that picture! Did you notice that most of the buildings in Akasuka were built during the 50s and 60s? It was an area that had lots of firebombings during the war. I wiki'ed it. Cool that you managed to find the Naruto books on sale. Thrifty is good. The color of the boots match the girls' hair. Are you going to have to dye your hair to match? :)

  2. Most of Tokyo was rebuilt after the war. They value the land things are on more than the actual building. They rebuild the Izu shrine like every 20 years and it`s still authentically historical to them.

    I don`t think that`d be a good hair color.

  3. In the picture of the crowd, how did you manage to be so far above them?
